Sarah Van Den Broek
I paint to music and mood - the canvas has many layers, initially prepared with texture - gels, gesso and varnish, and the acrylic paint for sea and land, with paint or inks for figures and shadow. I use surface depth for power.
I utilise pareidolia with a brush stroke, images of people in a natural, big scale landscape. The paintings are a celebration of nature - and particularly the life force of the island during regatta season and family holidays.

Sarah has worked in studios in Devon and Surrey but is always drawn to the sea, the quicksilver seasons reflected in sea and water.
Sarah has exhibited at the Mayne Gallery, The Chelsea Walton Gallery, Galerie du Monde, Kevis House, AppArt and UK open studios. She has won awards - the David Yellop Award, HAS people’s choice and long listed for the Summer Exhibition Royal Academy.
