Lisa Traxler MRSS RWS NAPA
Lisa works in 2D and 3D drawing on her experiences of traveling extensively in her previous job in London as a fashion editor and costume designer. You can see the influences from her traveling and design flair in her artwork and sculpture (which has an industrial feel). She is very aware of her sense of 'place'. Inspired by architecture, history and landscape. This has lead to amazing artworks and sculptures of light and shade, angle and line, colour and tone in captivating shapes. There's a nod to her 'pattern pieces' created and used by her when designing clothing and replicated when creating sculpture pieces that slot together. The works have been received to great acclaim and success.
Her vitreous enamel and steel mural painted on the outside of the house she built with her partner, designer Lincoln Miles, gained huge attention when aired on national television (Grand Designs, Channel 4, 2010/12) and was commended at the Architects Journal Awards, London (2011). She is a member of MRSS (Royal Society of Sculptors)
