RSMA recognition for the accomplished and inspiring works by 2 of our artists in '24 !!

Andrew has been made an associate member of the

Royal Society of Marine Artists this year : )

A few works by Andrew Hird ARSMA :-

Andrew loves to work with oil and I have been fascinated to watch over the past 6 years as his eye captures the different light in whatever environment or country he finds himself. A subtlety has developed with a lightness of touch and descriptive brush stroke that captures movement and form. The observation level, capturing the surface of water glistening in the light and the richness of deeper darker shadows is incredibly naturalistic. The pose and poise of his figures have character and presence. Nothing over powers a piece. The balance throughout is a symphony of 'good' notes. Well done Andrew.. well deserved.

Mark has been made a full member of the

Royal Society of Marine Artists this year : ) :-

Some works by Mark Buck RSMA :-

Mark is a master of working En Plein Air and wherever he goes so does his sketch book and watercolours. He can work in many different mediums but he excels in watercolour. He instinctively knows how to layer it to create the perfect shadow and form seemingly effortlessly. A true master of his art. Congrats Mark, well deserved : )

Since the paintings above had been produced for the Gallery Mark has decided that moving forward at this time he is aiming to use only Schmincke watercolours. I hope very much to get some new watercolour works soon.

**The pieces available from our Gallery shop are the last of his Acrylic work hence the amazing prices and opportunity to buy a lovely piece by a rising star artist at a very affordable level. Take a look... : )
