Sails, Flags and Seascapes - Easter Exhibition

Fri 25th March to Sat 9th April

This exhibition combines the talents of 3 well known Island abstract artists with the theme of

'Sails, Flags and Seascapes'.

Works in the exhibition will be uploaded to the respective artists pages on or before Thursday 24th March. Click on their names on the left side of the Home page to see all works.

Lil Nutter is new to the Gallery, but well known to the Island art scene. She excells at 'Textured Abstraction'. Her fascination for light, shade and the descriptive mark shine through as she carefully adds the layers of paint to her Seascapes and distant landscapes. There is a vintage design feel to her sailing boat pieces which are also popular.

Lynn Young’s action packed sailing themes and sweeping coastal pieces - where the water meets the land - compliment most interiors and appeal to many. Using a mix of tones and bright colours she has a unique colour palette. A huge dollop of clever eccentric invention is used in the production of her fantastic denim clad animals and mixed media flag pieces. These will also be on show.

Kate Richardson’s vibrant colourful pieces are inspired by her emotional response to joyful family days out and about sailing on the Solent along with the excitement of competing in regatta's and events. Enter a world of pink and silver skies and red and aqua seas. Jewel colours to make the heart sing.

The Gallery is open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays - 11 am - 5 pm throughout the Easter break.
