Becky Samuelson SWA

Becky’s studio is in St Helens on the Isle of Wight and she specializes in coastal seascapes, landscape and architectural painting, in all media. She has been painting professionally for twenty three years and her time is divided between painting for exhibitions/commissions, teaching and writing articles for art magazines.

Much of her inspiration comes from the amazing Island countryside and coastline with its huge diversity and great natural light and she loves the use of colour and the effect of light on the subject. Timeless views of seascapes, local beaches and beach life,  sailing dinghies and regattas, harbour views and estuaries are a few of the subjects to which she is drawn to. Becky is versatile in her approach to painting and loves exploring new ideas, recently painting in acrylic on old sailcloth.

Becky is a member of ‘The Society of Women Artists’.

She has exhibited widely through major galleries both on and off the Isle of Wight, including each year at the Royal College of Art for the ‘Art for Youth’ Exhibition and at  The Mall Galleries with ‘The Society of Women Artists’ and she has work in print with several companies.

Becky enjoys working to commission and the personal contact it brings with the client. Subjects are wide-ranging from beach and landscape views to house and boat portraits.
