James Bartholomew
James lives on the Isle of Wight where he specialises in martitime fine art, painting famous 19th and 20th century yacht scenes off Cowes in oils.
James has always lived near the sea and joined the Navy at the age of 16. Following drafts with HMS Hermes and HMS Glasgow, he transferred to the Royal Marines to serve with 45 Commando. Since leaving the forces James worked as a professional bodyguard in London and Europe prior to turning professional artist in 1998. He is married with two children.
James is a keen sportsman and yachtsman. His main passion is sailing and he competes in many events during the season from Cowes, including round- the- island Race and Fastnet.
Born in 1962 he still has much to offer and his work is considered a sound investment and very collectable. Much of his work is done for clients in the USA on a commission basis. James’ sells through auction houses, selective galleries in the UK and USA or by commission.
